The inspiration behind 1936 Fingerboards by James Greenwood:
"The meaning and significance of 1936 is that it was a very pivotal and unique era of American history. There were mobsters and organized crime running rampant in the streets and this time period was just after prohibition so there was a lot of changes in American society as a whole in general. Also, that was the time of the Great Depression which was a huge struggle for Americans at that time (1929-1939). I’ve always personally found this era to be very interesting and important for American history so I wanted to incorporate that era and aesthetic into the 1936 brand. I started skateboarding at 12 years old in 1996 until my late 20's and have always been inspired by the dedication and determination skaters have to improve their skills, tricks, style/technique and I have always loved the community aspect and counter-culture that skateboarding has at its core. Fingerboarding is a direct extension of skateboarding, which also always brings back the nostalgia I had as a skateboarder."
